Lions, Tigers and Bears ~ Oh My!

This past Wednesday evening theatres nationwide celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Wizard Of Oz. They honored the 70th anniversary by presenting the film in Hi Definition for one night only. This is one of my all time favorites and yes I attended. It was wonderful seeing this film on the Big Screen in Hi-Def. The colors were more vivid and you could see more detail. It was a fun filled evening.

A Bear in the Neighborhood

While driving through neighborhoods I love to look at the houses and the yards. Some have let their yards dry out completely, some have replaced the grass with rock, there are lawns that are well groomed, some have greenery, some have flowers but what intrigues me the most is what I call "lawn art". Yes, those statues and flags and all those other things people stick in their yard. I was driving through a neighborhood one day and I had to take a double take; I went up the road and made a U-Turn to take another glance. Yes......it was a BEAR peering out of the bushes. I had my camera with me and snapped this photo.
There was another day that I was driving and saw a huge bull frog in a yard - unfortunately I did not have my camera with me and can not remember where I was when I saw the frog ~ it was large.

What is the strangest or coolest thing you have seen in a front yard?

Head for the Mountains

This past weekend we packed up and headed for the Mountains. This was a family get together and celebration. We celebrated my Great Nephew's 21st birthday and my Nephew's thirty something birthday. It was a warm day but perfect sitting under the shade of the very pretty trees. The blue jays and woodpeckers were chirping and flying through the trees. The BEES were out in full force once the food came out ~ that was pure craziness. My brother-in-law BBQ's a fantastic London Broil and boy did those bees love his marinade. They weren't after the hot dogs or beans they went for the meat! They soon disappeared once the food was put away. We all took a hike down to the water. The kids had a blast playing in the water and jumping from the rocks into the water hole! This had us mothers a little on edge!
It was a wonderful family get together and as we drove down out of the mountains this is what we saw. The sky was so beautiful.

Clouds cover the sky

At 6:00 this evening the weather was still rather warm but the sky was a drift with clouds. As I was cleaning the pool I looked towards the South the sky was dark and a bit frightening. It looked as though a storm was brewing ~ what an awesome sight.

As I looked to the North I saw patches of blue sky through the white fluffy clouds.

And when I looked up there were more clouds. The entire sky was covered in the most wonderful looking clouds. What a sight.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Relaxing Day

My sister and I spent Thursday taking a break from the everyday hum drum. We spent a few hours in Coronado. We stopped by "The Attic" to say hi to a friend and to look around at all the wonderful things this shop has to offer. This shop will put a smile on your face, when you walk through the door you get that "Welcome" feeling. I purchased two of the cutest necklaces made from scrabble tiles. Stop by if your in the area; it is well worth it.
