One of my sons teachers has given the students a challenge. A NO television, no video games, no computer games challenge for 7 days! This challenge is optional but if they choose to take it they can earn up to 100 extra credit points in the class. My son has decided to do the challenge and in support of his decision my husband and I will do the same. We did this last school year and we did survive. Me.....I am happy not to have the television blaring, and seeing my son do other things besides head for the video games, my husband is addicted to the TV but he had no problem taking the challenge last year. Wish us luck.
May brings so many wonderful things. But May also bring sorrow my way. Both my parents birthdays were in May; a day apart none the less. This is the month that my dad passed away so suddenly twenty eight years ago; just four days after his 57th birthday. He was a wonderful dad and I have so many great memories thanks to him. The sadess part is my husband and son never got to meet him.
During the last several years with our water shortages most of my flowers have gone away. We are sprucing things up a bit in the yard. Flowers and color make me happy. So this year we are planting some flowers for color and some drought tolerant plants. The above photo is a plant that lasted through the drought.
Although summertime around here seems to be a busy time for us; it is also a time for family get togethers, swimming in the pool, BBQ's and I am certainly ready for some fun in the sun. What is the one thing in your yard that makes you happiest??
I am so excited for my sister who has just launched San Diego's premier resource guide for cosmetic surgery, dentistry and well being. If you are not interested in cosmetic or dental surgery this guide offers so much more for the mind, body and soul. There will be new articles quarterly. I hope you will take a few minutes to take a look at it even if you are not from the San Diego area. You can check it out at www.sculpturesd.com. I wish her much success.
