As Time Goes On

This is a bitter sweet year for us.  My husband and I have been very involved in my sons school band for the past four years.  This is our last year and our sons last year of High School.  As I attend each event this year it is coming closer to the end.  While it brings tears to my eyes when I think of it; it is also a time of happiness.  These students are so amazing and talented.  Looks like we will be going to championships in a few weeks.  We took first place in our category at the last two field shows.  So proud of my son and all these kids who work so hard. We will be performing at Disneyland in the parade in a few weeks.  That is always a fun time!

Two Great Bands

This evening I will be going to see Modern English & The Romantics. Back in the 70's (dating myself here) these were two of my favorite bands.  Can' wait to see them.  Should be a great show.

Random Thoughts

It has been a very long time since I have written anything on this blog.  Life has been busy.
I want to start out by sending prayers to my brother in law who has spent the last two weeks in the hospital in critical condition.  He is now out of critical condition but has a long road to recovery.
My sisters has spent her days sitting next to his side at the hospital (bless her heart); thank goodness for family who has been rotating to take care of their two sons.

My son is in his Senior Year of High School......is this even possible? It feels as though I just dropped him off on his first day of Kindergarten.  He has been driving since this past March.  He is still in the schools marching band and has a solo in this years show.  I am so proud of him; he is a great kid and has a great group of friends that surround him.  Yes....I am a Band Mom...who has spent her last four
years involved in this program.  My husband is the President and I am the treasurer.  Although it is a very challenging position I love it; I love these band kids......we have so many talented kids in the program.

With this being my sons last year of High School he has been researching schools and last Spring went on a College for Me trip with the school where they visited various colleges.  And of course my son is interested in schools in Northern California.    What??? You can not leave.......that is my initial thought....as much as I do not want him to leave I can not let that affect his choice of colleges.

Quality time spent this past summer with a trip to Millerton Lake where we camped; swam, floated, went boating, tubing, jet skiing.  Then it was off to Las Vegas for a short family get a way. I took a trip with the girls to Laughlin, Nevada for Talent Quest Karaoke Competition...NO I do NOT do this.  I have a friend who has been doing this for years.  It is amazing how  many people are into this karaoke thing.  There is some amazing singers out there!  It is always a fun relaxing time.  Then it was off to spend a day at Disneyland. I think we went on the hottest day of the year!
